Climate Crisis: A Workers’-Led Future
The aim of the conference is for Unite to support its members in their workplaces, in their homes and in their communities to ensure that they are not the victims of the climate crisis as the economy decarbonises.

Rather, we want to fashion the future to ensure that our members are not adversely affected as workers and as citizens.

Chair: Jim Mowatt
Unite Director of Education

After 18 years as a National Negotiator in the Energy, Engineering, Oil and Gas sectors, Jim became the first Director of Education for UNITE. He is the Convenor of the Unite Environment Taskforce and also of our Mental Health Taskforce.

Ed Miliband MP
Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and (Conference of the Parties 26) COP26

Caitlin Lee
Unite Activist
Chair of Unite Hospitality Scotland

Tony Devlin
Unite National Officer
Chemicals, Oil and Gas

Sue Longley
General Secretary International Union of Food (IUF)

All our speakers are avid Just Transition activists who keenly advocate a Workers’ led future.

Where guests are appearing in person there will be a question and answer session.

You need not be a Unite member, but have an interest in the future of work and the climate crisis.

We aim to provide an informative event.
